Why I need this: I do several 3D printing projects with my at-risk students to teach scale, modeling, and problem solving. Currently we borrow a 3D printer from a neighboring school. It will be more manageable to have our own printer to do these projects and expand our 3D printing options.
Why I need this: Well, you can't use a 3D printer without filament. I chose white so that once a model is printed, students can color it in anyway they wish using sharpies and/or paint.
I teach in an alternative high school for at-risk youth. We have 135 students enrolled in our school. Each quarter my rosters for physics, earth & environmental science, zoology, and astronomy change such that I'll be teaching all students at some point. These students were unsuccessful in traditional classroom settings but are determined to earn their high school diplomas.
