Chromebooks - Grade B or Better, Various Brands
Single Unit Why I need this:
My students have no access to technology at home or at school. We are a low income community and many children are significantly below grade level. Many students come from single parent homes, or foster homes. The technology in our school is either non-existent or outdated and broken. We need to meet the students where they are educationally, using technology the rest of the country uses, in order for them to be ready for what awaits them as they grow older. These kids need to be given the same opportunities that other kids have, and they need a voice. Many of my students don't have families that stress the importance of a good education. I want to show them what's out there, and how chrome books can be used to assist them in all subjects. My students don't have cell phones or tablets at home and most parents tell me they don't have computers at home either. I would love to use the chromebooks to show them examples of what I am teaching them and make it a million times more exciting! Thank you!

Why Do I Teach?:
I love seeing that lightbulb go on and that smile when they "get it"...my school is a safe haven for many of my students. I love being the person to give them that excitement for learning! It's a tough neighborhood and the kids have experienced more trauma by 5th grade then many see in a lifetime. I love being there for them, and that's why I teach!
