Why I need this:
Being the Art Teacher in Richmond, Vermont, in grades K-4, I would like a projector to take my students on virtual field trips around the country and the world to let them see large-scale projections that let them get "into" a work of art. The technology presently available in my art room is my desktop computer. On my computer I make Powerpoint slide shows of artworks to introduce my lessons using Visual Thinking Strategies and allow my students to experience cultural landmarks and museums far away from us. Currently, I have no way to show these to students. Last spring, my inherited projector finally gave up, and thus far no money has been available to replace it. Supporting my classroom's purchase of this projector would improve my ability to teach in a 21st century way and improve access to the wide world of art for all of the school's nearly 300 students. |
