Frasch Elementary School
Hometown:
Sulphur
Class Information:
Room Number: 106
Students per Class: 22
Class Description:
I have 22 wonderful students in my class. I teach at a Spanish Immersion School, so six of my students leave our classroom mid-morning to receive instruction in Spanish the rest of the day. I try to provide my students with opportunities to use technology, but with only two classroom computers it is difficult.
Position:
Teacher
Needs:
I would like to have more classroom computers, digital cameras, and equipment for pod casting.
My Philosophy:
I believe students in this generation will greatly benefit from instruction centered around technology. They will be our technology in the future and with everyone today relying so much on technology, this will help teach them skills they will use and depend on tomorrow.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I have two children of my own, and we are expecting another child this fall. I feel that being a parent helps me to be a better teacher. I experience and learn from my own children and this helps me to understand and relate to the needs of the children in my classroom.
College and Degrees:
McNeese State University 2002-2007B.S. Early Childhood Education
Favorite Books:
My favorite authors are Mary Higgins Clark, and John Grisham.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because in my childhood I remember instances of when I grasped an idea, or truly learned something. That feeling of understanding and knowing is like nothing else on earth. I want to facilitate and assist children today, to have those same "ah hah" moments as I did when I was younger and still experience in my adulthood.
