Constantine Elementary School
Hometown:
Anniston, Alabama
Class Information:
Room Number: 104
Students per Class: 19
Class Description:
I teach first grade at Constantine Elementary School. We have only one computer in our classroom, which works very slowly. My students enjoy learning and are always eager to learn something new. Since I teach in a low-income community, most of my students do not have the luxury of having computers and other forms of technology in their homes. So for most of them, school is the only place where they are able to explore the use of technology.
Position:
1st Grade Teacher
Needs:
I would love to have a SmartBoard to incorporate technology with our lessons. Having a SmartBoard in my classroom would enable me to involve students in the lesson and keep them intrigued with what's going on. I believe that by having this technology, I could differentiate instruction on a daily basis throughout the school day and allow for students' continued success.
My Philosophy:
Students need a hands-on interactive way to learn. Students are more responsive and receptive when they are interested in what is being taught and the way it is being taught. I believe that I need to find every possible way to teach skills so that every child understands it. That is my job and responsibility as a teacher to reach every child, no matter what.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I have been teaching for five years at Constantine, and absolutely love it. I am married with two beautiful children.
College and Degrees:
I have a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Elementary Education and am currently working on an E.D.S. in Elementary Education.
Employment History:
I have been working at Constantine Elementary School since January 2005.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love what I do because I am able to impact children's lives in a positve way each and every day. I find it both rewarding and challenging to fill my students' minds with the knowledge they need to gain a strong educational foundation that they will build on for the next eleven years.
