Needs:
We are in need of updating most of the technology in the media center. I am hoping to get a few flip cameras - both for student and teacher use. I would also like to purchase some netbooks to allow more students to use the computers at the same time.
My Philosophy:
I believe first and foremost a media specialist is a teacher. Thus, the most important job is for me to teach both students and teachers in various methods to further their learning; which includes but not limited to all the American Association of School Librarians Standards for the 21st Century Learner. I believe that the media specialist must work closely with all teachers and collaborate with them on different subjects and projects to promote the love of learning. I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure that I can provide my students the best. I will provide the students and staff a comfortable yet educational facility to learn, work and play within the Media Center. I believe an important part of learning is playing; I strongly believe that children as well as adults learn and thrive on hands on experiences. I believe that the media specialist plays a vital role in showing students that Reading is Fun!

Why Do I Teach?:
I am a media Specialist at Wilkinson County Middle and High School. Grades 6-12.
