Why Do I Teach?:
Influence can leave an impact that can last throughout life. It can stem from an image in a painting, a grandparent’s wisdom, or even the unimaginable: advice from your parents. In either case, each could be the source of inspiration into discovering our own form of literacy. In my case, it was a teacher in high school that had the greatest impact on my life who gave me a taste for biology and I’ve had an insatiable hunger for that knowledge ever since. I teach because the look on a students face of, "Aha, I get it now," is priceless. It makes me realize that what I do each day in the classroom is making a difference. When after a hard day in the classroom, a student will come up and tell you that they appreciate your efforts or that you've inspired them in some way. That's why I became a teacher, to continue the tradition my high school teacher had on me.
