we are a small rural school in central iowa. I have 11 students in my class this year.

Needs:
We are in need of lots of technology not only in my classroom , but in our school. In our school, we share 1 digital camera, no video cameras. Most classrooms have 1 very old computer for students to use.
My Philosophy:
I think it is important for teachers to prepare students for the world they will live in. Technology will be a huge part of their world. Schools need to provide equipment and tools for students to use. Students today are comfortable with computers, tivo, digital cameras, etc. schools need to have these things to show students a whole other way to learn about the world around them.

About Me:
I have taught kindergarten in both St. Louis, MO and Alden. I have also worked with children and families in early childhood programs. I have taught and or worked with children and families for over 18 years.
College and Degrees:
BS- Iowa State University minor: spanish
Activities:
alden leadership team, TQ committe, wellness committe, Hardy reading rep for our school, president and vice- president of the alden teacher's association, leader / organizer of teacher book club.
Favorite Books:
I love anything by Jodi Picoult. I recently read Sarah's key, the secret life of bees, loving Frank, et. We have a teachers book club that meets once a month, so reading is a priority and love in my life
