Why I need this:
I am part of my school district's NGSS Early Implementation Committee, and part of my job is to develop STEM activities that can engage students in ways recipe science has failed to do so for years. Our population is largely in poverty and have no access to resources, scientific toys, or opportunities to learn outside of school. With the other teachers at my school we can take these kids who have never been made to believe they can be scientists, engineers, or computer programmers, and develop the skills necessary to both excel with the NGSS and pave them a path to a career. |
