Class Information:
Room Number: 256
Students per Class: 60-80
Class Description:
I teach a number of classes to a wide array of students. I teach Exploratory Technology, Drafting and Design, Electricity, Principles of Engineering, Architecture, and Building and home Maintenance. I, often times, have special needs students co-existing alongside gifted students in many of my classes
Position:
Technology Education Teacher
Needs:
I really need production tools and materials for my room. I'm in the process of trying to remake what was a board drafting room into a computer lab/prototyping lab. I have the computers as well as software such as Pro Engineer Wildfire 4.0 Schools Advanced and Solidworks, however, I could really use prototyping materials and tools as well as donations towards a 3D printer.
My Philosophy:
It's amazing how bright a student can shine when given a challenge, a reason to achieve, and some guidance.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I love keeping my students on their toes. I try to keep things light in my classroom and make learning fun. I find that by allowing the students to enjoy the environment they relax and desire to learn. In addition, by enjoying being in my classroom the students have an innate desire to meet my approval and therefore they achieve great things beyond my dreams.
College and Degrees:
B.S. Technology Education - UW-Stout. Working on a Master's in Instructional Technology - Cardinal Stritch.
Activities:
Skills USA, Rube Goldberg, Sumo Bot Competition, Lego Robotics, and PTC Awards. I'm also the head softball coach.
Favorite Books:
Tuesday's with Maury. The Left Behind Series.
Favorite Quotes:
In the race to be better or best, don't miss the joy in being. Successfulis the person who has lived well, laughed often and loved much, who has gained the respect of children, who leaves the world better than they found it, who has never lacked appreciation for the earth's beauty, who never fails to look for the best in others or give the best of themselves.
Interests:
Too many to list.
Employment History:
1 year at Racine Case, 4th year at Union Grove.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach to give back to my students what several of my teachers gave to me, a chance to make something out of my life. I love the energy that the students bring to my day and the ever changing challenges that go with them. I teach because I want to make a difference in the world and what better way to do so than to start with our future.
