I serve about fifty children throughout the day. We spend thirty to forty-five minutes working on phonics, comprehension strategies, writing, and speaking about the stories that we have read, and experiences that we can relate to our learning.
Position:
Title 1 Reading Teacher Response to Intervention Coordinator
My Philosophy:
I see my classroom as a safe place for kids that struggle to take risks. They must feel comfortable trying new strategies or honing their skills before they can truly grow as a learner. That is always a challenge for kids that don't see "success" in themselves.
Personal Information:
Why Do I Teach?:
My favorite quote explains a lot: "Reason can answer questions, but imagination has to ask the." Ralph Gerard's quote inspires me to help my kids find the questions that lie within themselves, then see themselves as adventurous learners in finding the answers!
