Class Information:
Students per Class: 10
Class Description:
My class is a 7th/8th grade combination class. I have 10 digital natives who are eager to learn and become members of a global society. My students are especially interested in STEM.
Position:
Teacher
Needs:
Currently, our classroom is in need of laptops and software for our middle schoolers to have a 1:1 technology program.
My Philosophy:
There is nothing quite like the rewards of teaching. The sparkle in a child’s eye as she discovers something new or the “a-ha” moment as a child’s face lights up speaks volumes to a teacher’s soul! In order to teach a child successfully a teacher must understand current educational standards, the nature of children, how the brain learns, and is able to work collaboratively with all stakeholders. I believe that when students are provided with a caring environment, the right tools, and a variety of instructional strategies that all children can learn and find success. Learning empowers individuals and is the avenue by which dreams are realized. The teacher is simply a guide on a child's journey to achievement.
