Single Unit Why I need this:
I am currently in my 6th year as a 4th and 5th grade teacher, and a first year doctoral student at the University of Florida. My degree is in Educational Technology, and I'm seeing all of the amazing ways that technology can make a difference. We have a hands-on science program, which means parents don't see anything we do, even though I get to see light bulbs turning on above kids' heads all day! I set up blogs for all of my 55 students, but now I need ways for them to take pictures and videos to track our science investigations. I am hoping for them to articulate what they are thinking and observing, and be able to make how-to videos and conduct interviews using these cameras. At the same time, parents will be able to see everything we are learning.

Needs:
I am currently a 6th year teacher, and a first year Educational Doctorate student at the University of Florida. I am very interested in adding more technology to the classroom that will directly involve the students in science and math. I recently set up a KidBlog account for the class to share links, videos, and pictures of what we do for math and science class, but I have nothing for them to use to take pictures and videos. I am in need of simple, kid-friendly picture and video software for the students to use while they are doing investigations and observations. Although one per child is always ideal, 10 cameras would be enough for each small group to have their own to record their experiences. Science class is strictly hands-on...no textbooks or homework. Parents rarely are involved, and this way the parents can see exactly what is happening in the classroom, and students can share what they are doing with their classmates.
