Class Information:
Class Description:
I currently teach two subjects at TO, Advanced Placement Psychology and College Prep World History. I have students from all over the spectrum, from students with special needs, to at-risk, ELL, all the way up to the most brilliant and gifted young adults you will ever meet.
Position:
Social Studies Teacher
Needs:
A major need I have within my classroom is to improve technology. Though most of California is usually seen as wealthy, the nature of the tax code limits the amount of money that actually goes into a school budget. This leaves teachers wanting to incorporate technology and have their classes be cutting age, but without the financial backing to do so.
My Philosophy:
I am all about the kids. I want to find ways to have each student experience some level of success on a daily basis. Every child brings special needs into the classroom each day, and I try to design an atmosphere of learning which helps to meet those needs.
Personal Information:
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I love helping people. I cannot think of a better place to do this than as a teacher. Every child is so unique and full of potential that it is an absolute joy to watch that grow and unfold each year.
Average number of students in class:: 35 students
Number of students I teach:: 160 students
