Class Description:
I have a wonerful class with eager learners who are very motivated by technology! My digital natives are becoming experts at navigating our Activboard (similar to a smartboard).

Needs:
We are so blessed to have an activboard but would like to do more with it. We are in need of accessories to really utilize this great piece of technology.
My Philosophy:
I became a teacher because my 5th grade teacher saved my life! She was a beautiful person who fooled a whole class of students into thinking each of us were her favorite students. She took the time to help me through my parent's seperation and lots of self-esteem issues. I was a struggling reader and not so hot at math either. I never forgot how I felt when Mrs. Calvet paid attention to me and made me feel special. I strive everyday to make my students all feel like they are my favorites. I love helping kids discover what they are capable of and using their smarts to make themselves better people. Our class motto is always: "Never Settle for Less than Your BEST!"

About Me:
I am the mother of three beautiful children. They are 11, 7 & 4 years old. It is often challenging to keep a household running and a career. I am very blessed to have a VERY suppotive husband who helps every step of the way.
College and Degrees:
I graduated from Appalachian State University in 1995. I have a bachelor's degree in elementrary education.
Activities:
I love taking time out for my family and enjoying "daycations" with them. I also get a thrill out of watching my kids play sports. I try to steel time in my hammock to read a good book from time to time.
Favorite Books:
Anything by Mitch Albom, Roald Dahl, or Tomie DePaola.
