School: J. B. Wilmeth Elementary School, McKinney, TX
Planned By: Robin Keating
Original Author: Robin Keating, McKinney
After the completion of any unit of study (for example: how to do prime factoriztion in math; explaining the difference between mixtures and solutions; causes of the Civil War, etc.) students will write a "script" to be read with the paper slides. In addition, students will create a paper visuals that supports the spoken text. At least 5 different paper slides should be done, complete with text.

Make a title and ending slide with text to be spoken.

Arrange slides in the order to be used. Lay them out on a table or in the hallway in order.

One student operates the camera, focusing in on one slide at a time.

Other student reads the "script" that matches the paper visual. When finished with that slide, either go on to the next one or "slide" it out of the way.

This activity lends itself to any content. It is very useful for assessment purposes. It also incorporates writing across the curricula. Students can collect items for a digital portfolio, explaining their thinking or reflecting on their learning.
