Students at my school live in an economically disadvantaged community that is well known for its social ills in one of Chicago's historically dangerous neighborhoods. Nevertheless, this year, students will engaging in the beginning works of a STEM education. This summer, I self-prepared myself through webinars, workshops, and participating in a STEM Summer Design Program to close the STEM Achievement Gap; however, resources are needed to bring my class to life through the use of up-to-date technology- the 2nd barrier that impedes effective STEM Education.
