I teach first grade in a K-6 school in a small town in central Montana. I am extremely passionate about technology and education. Our community is very low income and the building our students go to school in is over 100 years old. There is not always enough funding for classroom technology. With this grant I could purchase eight to ten iPad minis for a classroom lab. Over 60% of our students are free and reduced; they are not getting the same chance as other students when it comes to technology. We have one computer lab for the whole school. With an iPad mini classroom lab I could expose my students to technology and teach them safe ways to use the Internet. I could enhance their math and reading skills through educational apps and allow them freedom in their own learning styles. We live in the 21st century we should be teaching our students with 21st century methods. Ipads can help us do that!
