I teach in a low poverty school where we only have four computer carts for the whole school to share. It is hard for an English Language Arts teacher who has to teach writing and three times the standards of other teachers in the same amount of time to do so without technology. We are supposed to promote student engagement and keep up with a technological advanced world without the very tools that they need to keep up. These students need to be ready for high school and college and have the skills to help them be productive in the real world. All jobs require some sort of computer skill, and I want to help my students reach their full potential and be the change we need to see in this world. This is a desperate need for my class teaching in an area where most do not have these resources at home, so the only preparation they will ever get will be in the classroom. Please help me help my students! We need more computers, and writing is all one will do in college and students need to be able to perfect these skills.
