Our kindergarten classroom would like to purchase an ipad to implement the new common core standards across the curriculum. With the use of an iPad in the classroom we can utilize them during differentiated instruction and small groups. Students can learn to sound out, read and write words through hands on experiences using various reading applications on the iPad. Students can also use virtual manipulatives on the iPad to learn counting and number identification during small group intervention. Students can also have access to dozens of books they can read along to on the iPad. Studies show that student performance is improved with iPads in the classroom.
