We are raising money to purchase iPad's for Fitness for Life class. Technology is not accessible to many of the Westlake students and iPad's are the perfect tool - small, quick to connect and user friendly - for our students.
The obesity rate is very high at Westlake (males: 43.5%; females 49%); by using iPad's students will gain an awareness and hopefully a change of lifestyle. Student's will keep track of their exercise and daily diet during the Fitness for Life course. The only way to change teenage obesity is by empowering teens to make a difference in their own lives. This means giving them the knowledge and the tools needed to make a change.
