I am requesting money to purchase iPod Touches for my students to use during all academic areas. The possibilities are endless with these iPods!

During Reader's Workshop I can see my students reading e-books, recording their voices for their own podcasts so that other students can listen to a book, playing Phonics games, and creating video projects involving them acting out their books.

In Writer's Workshop, as students are moving through the writing process, they can use the iPod touches to assist them. They will be able to create their own cartoons using their writing. They will also be able to access an online dictionary to help them spell words correctly.

Our Math block would allow students to create projects for our PBL (problem-based learning) days that we have.

I would love to have my students Skype with other students around the world to gain a better sense of themselves and the world around them.

Technology is key in education and this will certainly help my students!

This project is EXTREMELY important to both me and my students. Many do not have the opportunity to use this kind of technology on a daily basis and I would love to provide them with that opportunity. There are so many ways that the iPod Touch technology can be used in the classroom and I hope that I am given the chance to implement this into our daily classroom routines and rituals. I know that this will make such a difference in their lives.
