Working in groups of 4 or 5, the students will use their knowledge of Greek history to create a daily newspaper. The paper will be divided into 4 sections - National news - reports on battles during wars, development of city-states, etc. 2. Entertainment - plays that are showing, poetry readings, gala events. 3. Sports - report on the Greek Olympic games and 4. Advertisements - products for sale that the average Greek would use during that time period. The students would write their stories based on research and it would be written in that time frame. Cameras would be used to create images of the battles or citizens - allowing the students to dress in realistic greek clothing and then pasted on the paper. The same would go with the other sections of the paper. The students would be assessed on their historical correctness, factual evidence, spelling and grammar and their creativity.
