50 state project

In this lesson students will learn about life and culture in our 50 states.

Our class is starting to learn about the 50 states. Many of them have not left the New Jersey area and can not imagine how different life and cultures can be in different states.

We would also like to educate other states about life here in New Jersey.

We will begin our project by writing letters to elementary students all across the country and asking them to partner with us in the fun project. Then we will create “NJ travel and informational brochures” that we will share with our new friends from around the USA.

We will use our cameras to capture what life here in NJ is like, taking pictures of the beautiful landscapes, the varying types of animals that life here, the various landscaped that we are famous for. We will take pictures of NJ life and show how we live, what we wear, what we eat, and how we celebrate. We will use our cameras to show how we support our local sports team.

Once we have made our NJ informational brochures we will exchange them will our 49 partner schools and return we will learn all about the other states in our great country.
