Objective: Students will utilize the technology equipment already at school to scan pictures, write stories and make a newspaper layout to be distrubuted in the school/neighborhood communities.

Materials Needed:
Scanner
Mobile Digital Camera Lab
Computer/keyboard (word program)
Creative imagination :o)

Students (on a daily basis) will interview teachers, students and staff to creat local stories. Students will become journalists, to create a valued newspaper product. Students will build their vocabulary, and communication skills to express each main event of a story or article created. The newspaper will be distributed to each classroom, and materials provided will be placed in the newspaper from each classroom news! All information will be provided by students, parents, PTA news and teachers.

This grant will enable my students to get involved in school and neighborhood community events. It will also help build vocabulary, creativity and social skills.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
This project will be school-wide and will be an extra curricular activity. All subject areas will be involved.
Follow-Up
Make cartoon spreads, mind breaker games to be added as well as news and events. Sports information can be added also.
