Day 1: Student begin the planing phase. Partners are chosen as well as the social issues. Each group should be working on a different issue. (I have the pairs chose their top 3 issues they would like to work on from a list, then assign from there) Student are given a planning packet that requires them to first research their issue to gain better understanding and gather resources. Then they begin to plan their website with a flow chart and sample layout pages. Day 2: Student should continue and finish the planning phase. Day 3: Creating Phase begins. Each pair will start a file for their homepage in a web page design software. A 15 minute demonstration should be given on how to start building a page. Specifically, Tables are demonstrated. Days 4-7: Each day should start with a short 10 minute demonstration from the web design software and the rest is independent work with teacher monitoring. Days 8-9: The last phase evaluation begins. First, student will evaluate their own work and the participation of their partner. Then, student will rotate to another groups website and evaluate it with the rubrics provided. Lastly, each group will sit with the teacher and go through a teacher evaluation. |
