I would need several technology materials in order to better fulfill student needs within my classroom. I teach in a cross-categorical special education classroom. This is within a lower income school district. I would be teaching aspects and origins of Illinois History from the beginning of Illinois to the present. I would also be covering US History from WWI until present. I present my lesson plans in a wide variety of ways to help my students. They have a wide variety of learning styles. They succeed more often when I am able to utilize technology in the classroom. An example of this would be using an overhead projector (the type which hooks to my laptop) to portray student notes and materials which we are discussing. An example would be the Holocaust or the current war in Iraq. I am able to present materials to students with high distractibility levels in a manner which allows for a lower distractibility index. The students would maintain higher interest in the materials and their own histories, therefore achieving more. Success in every class rolls over to successful PSAE and ACT scores, which results in better opportunities for my students in future education, career, and military choices.

These items could also be used, and are much needed, in other special education classrooms and subjects in our building and district.
Comments
These items are desperately needed in our classrooms. Our students would benefit greatly from these items, and we do not have the funds available to utilize these items within our classroom. Thank you.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
We could use these items within ALL of our special education classes. These include Math classes, English classes, History classes, Science classes, Study Skills classes, Life Skills classes, and Work Study classes.
Follow-Up
Follow up activities would include test, quizzes, and in-class discussion to determine the level of material retained.
