Podcasting skills will be added to several courses like Communication Skills (English course), U.S. History and Civics and Economics. In each class students will create podcasts related to their curriculum. Following are some examples of podcasts to be created:
* Students will create a podcast highlighting details of various Statutes they need to know and then post them so other students can listen to the condensed version. (Civics and Economics)
* Students will write and then create a podcast of a historical event in a format similar to a radio broadcast. (U.S. History)
* Students will create a podcast of various literary works so other students who may have learning disabilities can listen to them instead of reading the material. (Communication Skills)
The Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) will assist the classroom teachers in learning the skills necessary to follow through on the activities identified above. All of the podcasts will serve as supplemental study material for students and will be available to students via podcasts and the school web site.
The ITS will also be available as a support person throughout the podcasting activities. |
