Comments
I am trying to fund a project that will bring IPads into my US History class and eventually make it a school wide and district wide project to where we can implement the use of higher technology in the classroom to prepare our students for the future in a world that is rapidly changing and growing in technology
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
The use of the Ipad will also include activities that will link to English/Language Arts when the students have to read sections of books like, The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, Uncle Tom's Cabin and the like and have to understand how the book is written. They will also be involved with English/Language Arts by creating persuasive essays based on the material we have covered. Technological Applications will be hit as well in the use of the Ipad by being able to switch applications, use word processors, create presentations and be able to utilize the apps that will be pre-loaded on the Ipad for use during class
Follow-Up
Students will be able to take tests and record scores and other items into an e-portfolio to keep track of their progress and accomplishments throughout the year. This will show the kids where they were and how far they have come during the year.
