Mapping Alexander the Great's 10-year march

Alexander the Great went on a ten-year march and conquered many empires, including the mighty Persians, as he took over an area as large as the continental United States. Since these conquests spread across three continents, I feel that students can get a better understanding of geography and history by mapping his journey. Using a document camera and historical maps, students will get clues and have to locate fifteen major battles and figure out the route they would take and compare that to the actual route. Very hands on and fun!
