I teach complex autistic children. Most have significant verbal difficulties and attending learning disabilities.
Position:
ESE teacher, self-contained autism classroom
Needs:
The classroom needs to upgrade its technological capabilites. We need up-to-date computers and other techology to maximize the learning capabilities of the students.
My Philosophy:
All children can learn, but not at the same rate or in the same manner. Most children with autism learn well with visual stimuli and many are very kinesthetic (touchy feely). A classroom should approach education providing many forms of input to teach to the child's learning modalities.
