Class Description:
My Kinder class is mostly composed by African American children, and all of them native English speakers. I teach all the classes in Spanish, to ensure their second language learning which is taught though the content. Childrenare totally immerse in the Spanish environment, learning science, math, reading writing, technology, etc . Meanwhile the get to Know facts about the Hispanic culture and little by little they become bilingual.
Position:
Spanish Immersion Teacher
Needs:
We need 6 (or more) IPOD touches to be used as a tool in the classroom to promote the literacy and help children to be more competent in the use of the language. This devices would be also great source to promote their reading skills and keep them updated on the technology advancement and the modern world. We need a video recorder to be used as a tool when we need to record all their progress and review all the achievement they have. I see that also a good resource to motivate them on the use of the media as a goal for their professional future.
My Philosophy:
I always have in mind that children can do more than what some people think. They just need the guide to open their brains and ensure that the world is not as big as it looks. Children just need the teachers to get them close to the real life and show them how much they can do if they always believe, in themselves, their family, their world and specially on the great things they can to make this world a better place. I really believe in children.
