Dell 3110 11.6" Chromebook - Refurbished, $2225.00, 0.00% raised
Dell 3110 11.6" Chromebook - Refurbished Rank:
Single Unit Why I need this:
A classroom set of these PCs (with a couple to spare in case of breakage) would be huge! Right now, there are many simulations and activities we cannot do with only access to chromebooks. The fact that they are touchscreen would be extremely helpful for those who struggle to use technology as well. They can just point to things instead of struggle with a mousepad all day long.
Quantity: 25 Price: $89.00

Wireless Mouse Rank:
Single Unit Why I need this:
These would be extremely useful for those who struggle to use trackpads. Many chromebooks also have broken trackpads and become unusable.
Quantity: 10 Price: $22.99
Belkin's Wireless Travel Mouse is perfect for taking on the road-no messy cables to get tangled, and more comfortable to use than your laptop's track pad.

GoPro HERO8 Black Activity Camera Rank:
Single Unit Why I need this:
This would be extremely useful for physics class to get accurate readings when doing experiments
Quantity: 1 Price: $299.99

Class Information:
Class Description:
I teach astronomy, physics, and physical science. I have students in grades 9, 11, and 12.
Position:
Science Teacher
Needs:
Students are working in the classroom and from home right now. We have a hard time doing experiments due to the lack of technology! It is hard to even show interactives and have us do virtual experiments together due to the ancient projector I have to use too. I am hoping to get a smart board at the least, a classroom set of windows computers that I can get tech games and simulations on, telescopes, and instruments for measuring speed and force would also be incredible for these kids.
My Philosophy:
I teach my kids about the dangers of global warming all year long intermixed with other lessons. It makes it very hard to emphasize its importance when we have to use paper for many things. I believe in showing kids how the world and the universe works, and letting them explore it for themselves - this means getting OFF the paper!

About Me:
I am a 26 year old science teacher living in Columbus Ohio. I dream of doing more for my students, writing a book, and eventually making curriculum for science classes that is less about writing things on paper, and more about developing the skills needed in today's world. I am hoping to start working on a PhD next year.
