Brentwood Elementary School
Hometown:
Lake Charles
Class Information:
Room Number: 301
Students per Class: approx. 100
Class Description:
I am an Inclusion/ Resource Teacher for grades 4-5. I work with students who have specific learning disabilities as well as those who have diagnosed with emotional disorders. I work with the 4th grade regular education teachers to assist 4th grade students in preparing for the LEAP standardized test. I use technology and software to engage students in hands on -minds on learning.
Position:
Special Education Teacher
Needs:
To reach students at varying learning levels,I continue to need technology that is kid friendly, exciting, and easy to use. Technology integration enhances every content area by providing hands on learning experiences that can extend beyond the classroom. That is why I am requesting the Mobile Digital Lab,the voice recorders and the other accessories, ( including a Smart Board) so that each child can be actively engaged in the learning process. These materials would also help us meet the technology requirements for students in grades 3-5.
My Philosophy:
Every Child can learn and grow if given the right environment, the right skills and a lot of love and encouragement.

Why Do I Teach?:
Everyone is endowed with a gift or gifts from above. Teaching is my gift. My mother and father instilled a love of education at an early age. I love sharing the excitement of learning with new generations. I am always looking for new ways to present content material that will be meaningful to my students. I had some of the best teachers in the world ( my father was a teacher!)and it is my privilege to honor them by following in their footsteps. To teach is to touch a life forever, and as they learn from me I learn from them. What could be better than that?
