Premier Classic Configuration Digital Camera Lab
Mobile Digital Camera Lab Why I need this:
I teach students with special needs in the upper elementary setting who have little or no experiences with digital photography. We are planning an exciting career exploration unit (PROJECT H.O.P.E. (Highlighting Opportunities for Potential Employment)with the other 4th and 5th grade students, involving field trips and research on traditional and non-traditional employment in the area. Students will create a digital scrapbook and data base for the school library. Every employer and student who participates will receive a CD of our finished product. The mobile digital camera lab and the 7.1 yearbook camera would greatly enhance our efforts for digital imaging experiences in the classroom. This project would generate activities in every content area, while motivating students to attend school regularly. We are hoping to improve test scores, raise self esteem and empower students to make positive choices thier futures.

    Class Description:
I am an Inclusion/ Resource Teacher for grades 4-5. I work with students who have specific learning disabilities as well as those who have diagnosed with emotional disorders. I work with the 4th grade regular education teachers to assist 4th grade students in preparing for the LEAP standardized test. I use technology and software to engage students in hands on -minds on learning.
    Position:
    Special Education Teacher
    Needs:
To reach students at varying learning levels,I continue to need technology that is kid friendly, exciting, and easy to use. Technology integration enhances every content area by providing hands on learning experiences that can extend beyond the classroom. That is why I am requesting the Mobile Digital Lab,the voice recorders and the other accessories, ( including a Smart Board) so that each child can be actively engaged in the learning process. These materials would also help us meet the technology requirements for students in grades 3-5.
    My Philosophy:
Every Child can learn and grow if given the right environment, the right skills and a lot of love and encouragement.

    Why Do I Teach?:
Everyone is endowed with a gift or gifts from above. Teaching is my gift. My mother and father instilled a love of education at an early age. I love sharing the excitement of learning with new generations. I am always looking for new ways to present content material that will be meaningful to my students. I had some of the best teachers in the world ( my father was a teacher!)and it is my privilege to honor them by following in their footsteps. To teach is to touch a life forever, and as they learn from me I learn from them. What could be better than that?
