My Philosophy:
I want to eliminate the idea that art is only for the skilled or trained. I believe that everyone has some artistic gift, which can be shared with others. Viewing art education from a holistic perspective leads to life lessons. The lessons gained from art can be utilized throughout one's life. Developing students' creative processes through problem solving is a key factor in this. Communication skills constitute another important life lesson. The Visual Arts opens the door to cultural acceptance by helping students make connections to various traditions and ethnic customs. Developing a students creative processes, problem solving skills, communication skills and a global perspective all from the Visual Arts class.
