In the library media center ALL students have access to the books and online research tools that are part of our library. Ninety percent of the instruction that I give is on a one-to-one basis.
Position:
Library Media Specialist
Needs:
Many of our students live in a rural environment. Internet service is not available where many of our students live. I am hoping that eventually we can offer hot spots to students to check out from the library and use in a situation when they are home bound. I also think hot spots could be valuable to students that are on trips. Providing a hot spot for them to complete research while en route to their destination would provide mobile Internet access outside of the school walls.
My Philosophy:
Each student is unique and learns in a distinctive way. Their educational experience is one of the most if not the most important aspect of making them a successful adult. The school is the life-source of the knowledge. Each teacher should feel obligated to pass along knowledge in a manner that makes learning fun and exciting.
