My class will be engaged in an 8 week cross curricular project where they will learn about living things, the environment, recycling, animal life, animal’s classification, and endangered animals. The project will culminate with an endangered animal sale where the whole school will be invited to join in the fun. The sale will raise money to adopt endangered animals through the FONZ (Friends of the national zoo) program in Washington DC.
We will be using cameras to take pictures of the various wildlife in our school’s backyard. We will use the pictures to discuss things such as flight patterns, habitats, and animal life.
We will use the cameras to take pictures of wildlife to study how humans can interfere with an animals natural habitat.
Throughout the length of the project my students will be using cameras to take pictures of animals to make posters, calendars, and postcards for the sale.
We will use the cameras to take pictures of wildlife so we can draw and recreate artistically the animal’s body parts and learn how they function.
We will take pictures of our school’s learning garden and study how we can improve the condition that it is in, creating habitats for animals.
They will be using the cameras to create an in-depth informational newspaper that will be distributed to the entire school.
They will use cameras to take pictures of how our community and or school is “going green”. They will use the pictures to create articles.
We will use our cameras to help us create digital memories of the project and the sale which will later be used in creating a memory book for each student.
We will use the cameras to creat artisitc pictures to go with our animal poetry.
We will use the cameras to create pictographs. |
