Many students in our community do not have the availability or opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities. As a school we have decided to arrange student’s schedules to offer them time during their week to participate in a club.
Photography club is designed to provide students with the basic skills of photography and how to take quality pictures that are worthy of publication/yearbook.
Because students often do not have the funds to provide their own camera for use, we are looking at having a supply at the school to borrow for students to check out and use.
Students will learn basic photography skills and terminology in order to operate the cameras effectively and safely. Digital cameras allow for students to learn editing processes as well as how different settings can change the effects of the photo.
Due to the fact that the cameras will be primarily used for a club, there is not a specific lesson plan in place. Possible topics that we will address with the use of clubs are: indoor/outdoor lighting, color/black & white, red-eye reduction, camera settings, F-stop settings, focusing, ect.
Having the cameras in our building will allow for a variety of purposes and students will have access to them for any content area.
Having digital technology will allow students to access their technology skills and apply them to any performance task they are working towards mastery on. |
