Day One - Students will be able to create an original product which they will write a commercial to advertise for it. They will apply the elements of persuasive writing to the commercial via a script. They should use the NJ writing rubric as a means to determine accuracy.
Day Two - Students will be able to peer edit each other's scripts identifying the elements of persuasive writing to make sure all elements are covered. Then rewrite the scripts to represent changes and improvements. Students will prepare or plan for their background, reherse the commercial, and create all materials necessary to look like a real commercial.
Day Three - Students will be able to students will prepare their background and all materials necessary to look like a real commercial. They will use the flip camera to film their persuasive commercial. They may have to take several videos to cover all elements found within their script.
Day Four - Students will be able to use the flip camera program to edit their commercial then peer check to make sure all elements of persuasive writing are still represented. The are encouraged to use music and any other enhancement to make their commercial more persuasive.
Day Five - Students will be able to present their video. As they are doing so the rest of the viewing audience will evaluate their persuasive techniques. They will vote on the best video produced.
