Students will research a historical figure of their choice. A video will be made of a masquerade ball. Students will divide into groups of 2 to 4 characters and plan a conversation that will have some revealing facts about who each character is. For example two men in full costume will be video recorded with the following dialogue;

Gentleman #1 "Why what a terrible feeling you must have had when you heard that South Carolina seceded from the union."

Gentleman #2 "Perhaps I did feel miserable, but I don't imagine you felt any better when you heard that Pearl Harbor was bombed."

The camera cuts away to another conversation where the group reveals information in the same manner.

The Clock strikes 12:00 and the lights go on and the students are now filmed without costumes on. The teacher has her head on the desk, she lifts it up and shakes it a few times and declares she had the most unusual dream. The students break out into laughter.

As the students watch the film they will be writing down who they believe the characters are and afterward the students will identify their own character. The student with the most correct answers wins a Halloween gift from the Dollar Store.
Comments
Costumes will be devised using make up and things we can find around the house. We also can pick up some staple items at the local goodwill.
