Apple TV
Single Unit Why I need this:
The online/distant learning has altered the way we teach and learn from our traditional classroom to the clouds. Our teachers use district-issues Chromebooks/laptops with screens that are difficult to navigate given the limited size of the screens amidst multiple platforms that are needed for full student-teacher-student active engagement and collaboration. The pandemic has changed the way we learn and teach at William Tell Aggeler Continuation High School in Los Angeles Unified School District. Our classrooms are closed and after March 13, 2020, all classes were suddenly help online; teachers and students were compelled to bring their traditional classrooms to the clouds until present time. To this end, as an educator ... all of a sudden, aside from being a multi-tasking teacher, psychologist, nurse, parent, counselor and social-emotional learning expert...we became technology advisors, support technicians and computer support professionals. Who we are: William Tell Aggeler Continuation High School and Community Day School are specialized high schools that provide a comprehensive non-traditional education to hundreds of students (7th to 12th grade) who have had some personal, family and community challenges in their lives. Our two small campuses have low student-to-teacher ratios offering instruction to students between the ages of 16 and 18 who are deemed as risk of not completing their education. Our goal of each student is to make up credit deficiencies and either be graduated from the continuation school or transferred back to traditional high school. We offer evening and other credit-recovery programs to serve high school students who are regularly employed 30 hours or more a week. The major emphases in the evening classes are occupational orientation and work experience while working towards graduation requirements.

Our individualized focus on learning, innovative unit recovery programs, character education, and high expectations are what set us apart from traditional comprehensive high schools and allow our certified teachers to devote more time and attention to your child's needs. What we URGENTLY need: The online/distant learning has altered the way we teach and learn from our traditional classroom to the clouds. Our teachers use district-issues Chromebooks/laptopswith screens that are difficult to navigate given the limited size of the screens amidst multiple platforms that are needed for full student-teacher-studentactive engagement and collaboration. In order to maximize and facilitate learning and teaching, we are asking your organization to provide us with: 1. InteractiveWhiteboard with OBS to allow a demonstrative and illustrative board for teachers to use while being able to see their students face-to-face simultaneously during the instructional process. 2. Two screens would be highly impactful so that both students and teachers to are able to see their students face-to-face simultaneously during the instructional process while teachers can use the extra screen to complete their attendance, data, video/audio examples and other interactive supports that’ll facilitate and enhance the instructional program. The pandemic has changed the way we learn and teach at William Tell Aggeler Continuation High School in Los Angeles Unified School District. Our classrooms are closed and after March 13, 2020, all classes suddenly helped online; teachers and students were compelled to bring their traditional classrooms to the clouds until the present time. To this end, as an educator ... all of a sudden, aside from being a multi-tasking teacher, psychologist, nurse, parent, counselor, and social-emotional learning expert...we became technology advisors, support technicians, and computer support professionals. It’sOctober 13, 2020 and I am writing this grant from my personal laptop to beg for a couple of computer monitors and a printer to allow me to articulate the mathematical concepts and principles to high school students who are in their critical stages of promotions and graduation. Therefore, I have envisioned to purchase the following technology resources for my class: 1. 5 Computer Monitors, LG 32 inches --- 1000.00 Plus Tax Note: I’d like to have two which is the ideal number to allow me to ZOOM, check attendance, conduct Kahoots and other surveys, show videos (if needed), use a whiteboard and project the Schoology platform, all at the same time on screen. 2 Computer monitors for Online Instruction (Distant) concurrently with the physical classroom, 1 for ongoing updates in the classroom and two (2) for student support in a class with 6-7 subjects (content ) being taught simultaneously. 2. Samsung or LG TV for video meetings (parents, students, community support). ---2,000 Plus Tax 2. Printer (colored, preferably) ---150.00 Plus Tax 3. Netgear Wifi Expander --- 50.00 Plus Tax Thank you so very much.
My Philosophy:
"I believe that a teacher is morally obligated to enter the classroom with only the highest of expectations for each and every one of her students. Thus, the teacher maximizes the positive benefits that naturally come along with any self-fulfilling prophecy. With dedication, perseverance, and hard work, her students will rise to the occasion." "I aim to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day. I believe that I owe it to my students, as well as the community, to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to my job in the hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage such traits in the children as well."
Personal Information:
About Me:
I have taught at public (traditional and charter and pilot schools) and private schools for more than 20 years. This new assignment allows me to extend and maximize all my expertise to work with at-risk students who have been expelled, transferred, suspended, and sent by regular schools here. While each child has his own personality, others tend to articulate such qualities in many different ways; and often they don;t fit the cookie-cutter platform of other schools. Therefore, I believe that society needs to serve and take care of all children, no matter their challenges. This is where Community Day Schools and Continuation High Schools come in and here is where I serve them, abundantly. If not us, who? If not here, where? If not now, when?
