This activity will be done on a daily basis and result in a Learning Diary produced by the class as a whole. The students will begin the year by viewing a digital photo taken daily by the teacher and come up with sentences as a group to describe the activity. The teacher will record the sentences on the smart board. This activity will help students recall yesterday's activities. The pages will be printed daily.

As the year progresses, the students will write the sentences on the smartboard themselves and this activity will also become an opportunity for practice in editing.

The students will be instructed in the use of digital camera and eventually become responsible for the taking of the pictures for use in this activity. Because only one picture and diary entry can be entered daily , the students will need to work cooperatively to choose what they want to put in the Diary.
Comments
The students love seeing themselves on the smartboard and they are happy excited to talk about what they were doing in the pictures. This makes a great keepsake to send home at the end of the year( select your favorite entries). **Be sure to have photo permission.
